Murals and gilding for The Goldsmith’s Company Assay Office.
This body of work features a series of murals which reveal the story and history of London’s Assay Office, the home of hallmarking and grading precious metals in London. Firstly was a mural in the staff canteen, followed by a selection of murals and a large glass-gilded piece in the newly refurbished customer counter area, where jewellers and makers bring their items to be hallmarked. This was followed by a further series of murals throughout the workshops and head offices.
All murals feature historic references from the Goldsmith’s Company and Assay Office archives, all painted and gilded using 23ct gold leaf.
